THE WEAVERS - Installation

The Weavers is both an extension, a progression, and a derivation of the My Africa: Carpet of Wings Exhibition. It is a documentation and new translation, a visual narrative constructed to echo memories of the past and link them with the stories of the present and future.

 The winged sculptures have been lifted from the floor to rest in a silver string hammock and a translucent tower of babble is filled with the black light glow of tuille and rock. A sketch book drawn to glow in black light retells the tale of "The Carpet of Wings" in another way.
