THE WOMAN WHO FELL TO EARTH - Installation

The piece is accompanied by The Meadow which consists of three books within a larger book. The covers are computer generated and much of the images and text are hand painted with watercolor and colored pens, and include plastic cut out elements.

The text for The Woman Who Fell to Earth is divided into nine parts (equaling the nine pages of The Meadow book) The woman floating to earth, getting up, and walking is depicted here in nine different positions.

The reverse of each meadow page holds her cut out shape in apocket and the appropriate excerpt from the text. The other two inner meadow books are comprised of the openings produced from her cut forms.

The first book is in the order of her floating to earth. The second book made up of plastic materials depicts the woman in her reverse positions and order. To view each page of the second book, remove the women cut outs from the text pockets and use them as anchors to hold the pages open. These books may be viewed consecutively to create the continual sensation of rising, falling and floating.
